Given normal hunting conditions: wind blowing, cold, stiff fingers, out of breath, bulky clothes, low light, snow or rain, buck fever, 100 yards is a long way. We used two different loads: Federal FliteControl #1 and Federal FliteControl #00 8-pellet .

Most buckshot gives up its energy well within 100 yards or less. i have quite a few guys shooting my buckshot loads.i did penetration test before season and it did great compared to federal buckshot at 40 yards. Thanks for your thoughts. Meanwhile, the Boar Blaster had three pellets strike within 4 inches.
This single shot reveals a vertically oriented pattern and 2 missing pellets. Beyond 100 yards, I had better pass up the shot or find a good rest.
