Established in early 1984, Kenting National Park is the oldest of Taiwan’s eight national parks.Believed to be submerged ten million years ago, the area is now home to rugged shorelines, sandy deserts and lush inland forest.

If you are taking the train from the east coast, transfer to an express bus at Fang Liao Station (枋寮車站). The express bus stops at Hengchun bus station and Kenting bus station. Rome2rio makes travelling from Taitung to Kenting National Park easy. Board railway train from Taitung to Fangliao, about 1.5 hrs train ride.At Fangliao, transfer to bus to Kenting, about 1.25 hrs bus ride.Bus frequency is regular as the route is served by many bus companies. Hi You could take train from Taitung to Fang Shan,the immediate station of Kenting.but it is just few trains to there.otherwise you could take train to Ping Dong city then find ways to Kenting.There are many buses and public transportation to Kenting either.I attach a website to you,you could check the timetable yourself if you could read Chinese.

If you are coming from the east coast of Taiwan, it is possible to get to Kenting without connecting through Kaohsiung.

Kenting, located at the southern tip of the island, is one of the top three hot-spots for tourists in Taiwan.This part of Formosa has a national park, beautiful beaches, ecological protection areas, old villages, green hills, and fishing harbours.

I can't help with Kenting and Green Island.. We had two days in Kaohsiung and that was just right for us.

Board railway train from Taitung to Fangliao, about 1.5 hrs train ride.At Fangliao, transfer to bus to Kenting, about 1.25 hrs bus ride.Bus frequency is regular as the route is served by many bus companies. Every morning there is a tour bus launches from Hualien / Kenting toward Kenting / Hualien.

Consequently, if you ride from Kenting to Taitung or vice-versa, be prepared to share the road with every other driver going in the same direction. Tainan -> Kaohsiung -> Kenting -> Taitung, but on google map, there doesn't seem to have much road connecting the south west to the south eastern part of Taiwan. The trip takes about 8~9 hours and costs NTD 1,200 for each passenger.
